Les Houches winter school on fluorescent markers
Date
From 17 March at 17:00 to 22 March at 17:10
Localisation
Ecole de Physique des Houches
The third edition of the winter school "Fluorescence markers for advanced microscopy: from photophysics to biology" took place from March 17 to 22, 2024. The school, organized by Ulrike Endesfelder (University of Bonn, Germany), Emmanuel Margeat (CNRS Montpellier, France), Claire Déo (EMBL, Heidelberg, Germany) and Dominique Bourgeois (IBS, France) took place at the Ecole de Physique des Houches, near Chamonix (https://fluorescenceleshouches.wordpress.com/).
The development of advanced fluorescence microscopy techniques such as nanoscopy relies on the complex photophysical behavior of fluorescent markers. The aim of the school was to shed light on the mysteries of how these markers work.
In its exceptional setting, the school, attended by 55 young researchers and 13 guest lecturers, was a unique opportunity to bring together the fluorescent protein and organic fluorophore communities.
