Laboratories

Research at the IBS is multidisciplinary, occurring at the frontiers of biology, chemistry and physics, and is centered around a number of well-defined research axes. Currently the Institute is divided into ten laboratories, who specialize in different aspects of structural biology, but these are being restructured into twenty or so smaller groups. This process recently began with the creation of two new research teams and should be complete by 2010. The IBS is directed by Eva Pebay-Peyroula.

The coherence of the work within each research axis at the IBS is reinforced by a pooling of resources and techniques and by the close collaboration between teams and with the international scientific community and industry. This synergy produces a dynamic research environment which consistently leads to publications in the highest-impact scientific journals.
