Platforms

The Institut de Biologie Structurale offers high-performance, internationally-competitive facilities for protein structural studies. These facilities are included among the IBISA platforms.

The IBS has state-of-the-art facilities and scientific expertise to facilitate projects involving : production and characterization of soluble and membrane proteins, analysis of macromolecular interactions, and determination of the structure and dynamics of proteins and macromolecular complexes.

The level of access for external users varies. Some facilities are open to external academics and private companies (service platforms). Others are available only in the context of a collaboration. A few resources are restricted to PSB members or to specially trained individuals. Requests to use these facilitites can be made by filling out a form available on-line or by contacting the person responsible for the facility of interest.

In addition, the IBS is located next door to the ESRF and the ILL, facilitating access to the large-scale instruments housed by these European Institutions.

All technical developments are made in conjunction with our European partners in Grenoble within the framework of the PSB.
