Protein Analysis On Line

Size-exclusion chromatography coupled to light scattering, refractive index and/or absorbance detection combines the separation of macromolecules in solution and the analysis of their transportation in view of a rigorous thermodynamics. It allows:

  • quantification of sample homogeneity
  • determining association state of complexes including complex multi-component systems, i.e. protein plus detergent, RNA or polymer. It is particularly suitable to analyse membrane or glycosylated proteins.

Key words

High-pressure liquid chromatography, size-exclusion chromatography, static light scattering, homogeneity, molar mass, composition.
