X-ray diffraction

Presentation

Two independent laboratory X-ray sources with high performance optics (Osmic & Xenocs muti-layer mirrors) and image-plate detector systems, available for routine data collection and screening of macromolecular and small molecule crystals.

The in-house X-ray platform is typically used for sample screening and optimisation (cryo-cooling or derivatization parameters) prior to data collection on a synchrotron source, however, for well-diffracting samples, data of sufficient quality to phase de novo structures by classical approaches (MIR, sulphur SAD or MR) can be obtained.

Key words

protein crystallography, sample screening, structure determination.
