MOLECULAR MECHANISMS OF INFECTION AND DISEASE

Team leader: Carlo Petosa

Our team is broadly interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms that underlie infectious disease. Current work focuses on:

- Inhibiting epigenetic targets in pathogenic fungi
- Nucleocytoplasmic transport of HIV proteins
- Nucleosome and chromatin structure

Our approach is to study the structure and function of key proteins involved in these processes and to use the insights gained to develop new strategies for the treatment and prevention of disease.

The team also hosts the Mass spectrometry (MS) platform, which offers various services and performs research on macromolecular complexes .
