LING, Wai Li

After a PhD in experimental condensed matter physics in the University of California at Berkeley, Wai Li Ling investigated surface dynamics, including crystal growth and corrosion, at the Sandia National Laboratories with scanning tunneling microscopy and low-energy electron microscopy. She then moved to the University of California at San Francisco to study 3-dim structures of native hydrated biological samples using cryo-electron tomography and vitreous sections. She moved to the CEA in Grenoble, France in 2007 and has been working on (cryo)-transmission electron microscopy of nanoparticles and biological samples since. Her research interests include nanotoxicity, immunity, and the application of novel techniques to study samples sensitive to radiation damage.
