For the 30th anniversary of the Fête de la Science, IBS proposed events targeting 3 audiences (primary and secondary school pupils and the general public), either in schools or remotely.
Discover the awesome world of biology, workshops for primary schools on October 04 & 05, 2021
Eight people were mobilized for the preparation and the animation of workshops for 2 schools (Prédieu school of Saint Egrève and Sidi-Brahim school of Grenoble). 113 pupils of CM2 were able to participate in these activities consisting in a short introduction to the world of the living followed by a 1h workshop among two possibilities (fluorescent proteins and banana DNA).
Discover Research careers, conderence-debat for secondary schools - Pctober 05 to 11, 2021
Given the uncertainties related to the health context, the IBS proposed lectures/debates on Research careers to several secondary shools in the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region.
– two face-to-face meetings in high schools in the Grenoble area (for 165 high school students in the Lycée Stendhal in Grenoble and the Lycée Marie Reynoard in Villard Bonnot)
– and also 4 visioconferences for 5 high schools in Annecy, Meylan, Montélimar, Villard Bonnot, Villefranche sur Soane (followed by 102 high school students).
EPN "Apéro science" Conferences
The EPN campus proposed on-line conferences in the evening, to learn and exchange about scientific questions, with researchers and PhD students :
- October 05 : Follow the journey of a protein in the heart of the EMBL and ESRF laboratories and facilities (replay).
- October 06 : Molecular mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases studied at ILL and IBS (replay. Discover replays (in french only).
Radio broadcast
From October 04 to 09, 2021, France Bleu Isère radio interviewed six scientists from the Isère region to share the emotion of discovery - the theme of this 30th edition. One IBS researcher, F. Fieschi, talked on October 6 about "Communion and efficiency in times of pandemic". Replay in french only)
