The IBS Young Scientist Award of 2023 has been attributed to Solène Besson, who defended his thesis in November 2022 in the Electron Microscopy and Methods group of IBS, for his work on the development of a treatment for melanoma.
The vaccines were first produced, purified and characterized at the IBS, and then evaluated in vitro then in vivo on mice in collaboration with the Etablissement Français du Sang (EFS) in Grenoble. A stimulation of the immune system and a reduction in tumor growth were observed in mice following injection of these vaccines.
