ESONN is a two-week course aimed at providing training for graduate students, postdoctoral and junior scientists from universities and laboratories, all around the world, in the field of Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies. It offers young researchers a structured view of the principles involved in the elaboration and in the functioning of nano-structures, nano-components and nano-machines.
This 2024 edition of the school is comprised of academic lectures and seminars and also practical courses in Grenoble, all delivered by leading experts covering different aspects on elaboration, characterization and functionalities of nano-objects.
In collaboration with European universities and research centers, the 2-week programme comprises both lectures and laboratory courses.
The programme is designed in two parallel sessions to highlight the fundamental and technological advances in two fields of research:
- SESSION A: Quantum electronics and technologies
- SESSION B: Nanophysics and chemistry - synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials for biological and medical applications.
Both sessions will run in parallel and will share common lectures and seminars followed by the week of practical work, as interdisciplinary studies is a clear objective of the school.
IBS scientists are involved in practical courses for the biological session:
• Proteins and nanoparticle assemblies and interactions by AUC and SEC/MALS - by A. Le Roy (IBS/M&P) & C. Mas (IBS/VRM) - PDF ;
• Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer - Cell imaging analysis of protein interactions - par JP. Kleman, O. Glushonkov, J. Timmins & RL. Revel-Goyet (IBS/I2SR) - PDF ;
• Optical methods and biosensors for investigation of biomolecules and their interactions: SPR and BLI - par JB. Reiser (IBS/CAID) - PDF ;
• Cryo-Electron Microscopy: sample preparation and visualization using a Glacios and a Krios electron microscope both equipped with a direct electron detector - par G. Schoehn & Eleftherios Zarkadas (IBS/MEM) - PDF
