The IBS is situated on the European Photon and Neutron (EPN) campus together with its European partners, the EMBL (European Molecular Biology Laboratory), the ESRF (European Synchrotron Radiation Facility), and the ILL (Institute Laue-Langevin). This unique site provides access to state of the art equipment to analyze biological systems at different scales of resolution.
The current IBS building was inaugurated in 2014. This building brings together 17 groups and 9 platforms. In addition 2 groups, 3 platforms and the Mixed Service Unit ISBG are located in the nearby Carl-Ivar Brändén Building (CIBB).
