Biological Techniques Engineer (fixed-term contract - EBEV group)

The Entry and Budding of Enveloped Viruses group (IBS/EBEV) is recruiting a Biological Techniques Engineer to implement, develop, and optimize experimental approaches focused on the architecture and cell biology of parasites of the Leishmania genus, combining cell biology, genetics, confocal microscopy, and electron microscopy.

Main responsibilities
This project aims to identify and characterize the proteins involved in the organization and regulation of the cytoskeleton in the parasite Leishmania major. It combines approaches in cell biology, genetics (CRISPR-Cas9), and advanced microscopy, including electron microscopy and confocal microscopy, in order to better understand the molecular mechanisms essential for parasite morphology and infectivity.

The research engineer will participate in parasite culture, the generation and characterization of modified cell lines, sample preparation for microscopy, and data analysis.

Candidate profile
Bachelor’s degree +3 years in cell biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, immunology, microbiology, or a related field.
Desired experience : a few months of laboratory experience would be appreciated.
