A 12 months postdoc position is available in the Pneumococcus group (IBS/PG).
The main activity of the person recruited will be to carry out experiments linked to the ANR "NANOWALL" project. The post-doctoral project aims to elucidate the dynamics of the synthesis and maturation processes for the two major components of the cell wall of Gram-positive bacteria, peptidoglycan (PG) and teichoic acids (TA), and to discover the key interactions that connect the assembly of these two components. It is based on a combination of click chemistry methods, one- and two-colour super-resolved fluorescence microscopy and biochemistry, applied to wild-type and mutant strains of the human pathogen Streptococcus pneumoniae.
