The emergence of methods based on artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionising structural biology. Algorithms for structure prediction, prediction of protein-protein interactions, design of antibodies, enzymes and small proteins with novel properties are making rapid progress.
In this context, the IBS is recruiting an expert in AI applied to the de novo design of proteins.
Candidate profile:
The candidate should have established know-how in the field of protein design, both in terms of algorithmic and experimental development. Dialogue with experimentalists should be a priority. He/she should be able to set up, finance and lead a research team.
Education: PhD in information science, mathematics, computational biology
Skills:
– Established skills in novo protein design, either in algorithm development or at the interface between algorithms and experimental validation
– Ability to understand, use and modify dedicated AI tools
– Good integration into the disciplinary field at the crossroads of protein studies, data science and AI
Experience: At least 5 years’ experience in the field.
