Integrative structural biology is known to encompass small to large, low to high, slow to fast. Here, we will enter a 4th dimension by adding from soft to hard. We will present how atomic force microscopy can perform mechanical measurements at the level of a tissue : the seedling roots of Arabidopsis thaliana.
