Structural analysis of PDF enzyme for the design of new antibioticsThe crystal structure of mitochondrial (type 1A) peptide deformylase provides clear guidelines for the design of inhibitors specific for the bacterial forms. |
Cleavage of p21/WAF1/CIP1 by proteinase 3 modulates differentiation of a monocytic cell line. Molecular analysis of the cleavage site.It has been recently demonstrated that proteinase 3, a neutrophil-derived serine protease considered as a microbicidal protein, had the ability to cleave the cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor, p21/waf1. Thus, the couple proteinase 3 and p21 appeared to be crucial in the control of myeloid proliferation and differentiation, with potential involvement in leukemia. Cleavage of p21/WAF1/CIP1 by proteinase 3 modulates differentiation of a monocytic cell line. Molecular analysis of the cleavage site |
