We study various types of fluorescent proteins using a combination of structural biology and biophysical techniques with the idea of finding ways to improve their fluorescence properties. This fluorescent proteins are of the GFP type (mTurquoise2, mNeonGreen, mScarlet), phytochrome type (IFP2.0, iBlueberry) or flavin-binding type (miniSOG (dual functionalities: fluorescence and generation of reactive oxygen species)).
